owed the state means helping taxpayers. Collection Services reimburses the State of Connecticut for various services rendered
through Medicaid and Medicare Billing, as well as various third-party
collections, legal and insurance recoveries, state and federal tax
intercepts, and tapping into lottery winnings. Last year alone, the
Financial Services Center brought over $744 million back into the
State of Connecticut General Fund. |

The DAS Business Office provides a full range of financial services for DAS
and several other small agencies.
The Business Office’s
responsibility is to provide comprehensive financial services in the
areas of budget, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing,
and property management to DAS and a variety of other agencies
including the Governor’s Office and the Lieutenant Governor’s Office.
It also provides accounting support to our revenue-producing units and
oversees the collection of delinquent accounts due to the state.
